THE RESTORATION OF PAINTINGS
Restoration materials in the past were often inappropriate and covered much more of a painting than the original damage. These became damaging in themselves, as they darkened, became cross-linked and difficult to remove.
Modern conservation materials have been developed to be safely reversible now and in the future.
This studio aims to retouch as little as possible, using the best materials available.
We work under magnification, with tiny brushes; it’s surprising how little it can take to make damage unobtrusive.
