Cracking & Flaking

CRACKS, DRYING CRACKS AND FLAKING PAINT

Raised cracks in the paint layer are a cause for concern for the safety of the picture, whereas drying cracks usually are more of an aesthetic problem.
Blind flaking, incipient flaking, cleavage from the support are all matters routinely encountered in this studio, and there is a range of remedies appropriate to the problem.
A studio inspection will identify which, and a Conservation Report will propose a costed treatment plan.
